If they build it using vex parts without too much help I would say its vex related enough for the forums. If they are learning how to build vex without building a competition bot that’s completely fine. That’s why things like vex work cell, 123, and go exist.

It’s unlikely any of us are building vex sliding doors for High Stakes so we need a lot more information to be able to help you with this interesting vex project.
Drawings, pictures, anything that can give us a better idea of your idea.

If you’re making a sliding door, you are either going to need pneumatics, or rack gears. You basically need a motor on a gear to spin a rack gear which is attached to the door objects. You would also need some of the linear motion kit. Have fun!

Well, yes, but the point still stands. It is built with V5 parts i am assuming, and the forum is designed to be quite a bit more than competition focused. OP is asking for build advice with the V5 system, so comp bot or not, it is absolutely VEX related.

If it is VEX-related and for a personal project, I think you should research how to make a linear slide with VEX. Hope this could help.
