For worlds, due to robots hanging on the pole, chances of the robot swinging off the pole and hitting the ground is plausible. Should we have mats around the pole as a precaution? Rather not having a robot it a rock hard floor.
You would also need padding around all the pit tables as robots launch themselves off them as the autonomous mode spontaneously kicks in.
There have been other games where robots drop off the field, no mats then. I doubt you will see any this year.
In my personal opinion, I think that there should be mats around the whole perimeter except where you will be driving. This will ensure that if robots tip out of the field, they don’t get too damaged. I agree very much so about this idea because the field is also raised during worlds.
But how much more will it cost?
The magic of anti-tip bars! I don’t think we’ve tipped in a match all season.
It’s not about how much it cost because these tiles can be used every year for precaution . But I see your side with anti tips but not all robots have that capabilty
Then build it? If you know you have a solution, why ignore it?
It was just an idea lol
