Right after seeing the game release, I think one possible meta could be a bot equipped with multiple pneumatically powered “plugs” that can be deployed into the ends of the goals to prevent scoring objects from being pushed out. These plugs would be connected to the robot with cables so it’s not “detached” but “expended.”
In addition, I noticed that the structure of the goal has some holes that seem conveniently designed for robot mechanisms to grip. So, I’m guessing there might be rules regarding whether clamping onto the field is allowed.
As of right now most designs are illegal under SG2, Only time will tell as to weather the current wording was an intentional choice by the GDC or if it was a mistake.
I saw the reveal live. I feel like it would be like a tower takeover kind of vibe then you could us a ratchet in you’re drivetrain so you can keep your self from being pushed back from the score tube if another team has a strong intake pushing you and potentially flipping you if your on the high tube
The intake has a diverter between the rest of the robot, used for storage, and a scorer (Chromebook auto-correct isn’t mad at me, so I assume that’s a word).
I saw a design that was built like a revolver, so a crazy amount of storage, and I thought that would be cool, but I think realistically a rework of the herobot will be most likely.
