Are you allowed to angle the mobile goal differently so that the autonomous code will work better? I mean that we keep the mobile goal in the same spot, but rotate it to a angle we want.
The Game Manual specifies the orientation of mobile goals. So changing orientation from field setup to make you autonomous code work better is illegal.
You can ask mobile goals be properly placed per Game Manual specification.
Welcome back, Vikky!
If you mean rotating it to help, like shown in this (horrendous) diagram;
The mobile goals are auto-stabilizing, and cannot be tipped this way.
If you mean rotating the actual hexagon base, you can’t interact with field elements using your hands, unless resetting the field… So it’s all up to the previous team who set the field.
And no, you can’t tell them to rotate it a specific way. That classifies as unsportsmanlike behaviour, if i recall correctly.
Good question, though!

In other words, you can expect the mobile goal to be in the same rotation every match, with a little tolerance. Of course you can always ask the field resetters or referees if they will adjust it for you to be exact-ish. Most of the times they will say yes, but they can say no as you are supposed to be prepared for ever so slightly some tolerance.
