Modifying Disco (Spin Up Hero bot) for High Stakes

Does anybody think it is a good idea modify the VEX Spin Up Hero bot Disco to play High Stakes? I made a prototype on Onshape that instead of using 1 inch standoffs to intake a Spin Up discs, I used 2 inch standoffs to fit High Stakes rings. I just want to ask about yall’s opinion on this idea since our team is having a time problem to build a bot with a conveyor belt. The intake is below, it is going to use flaps but I couldn’t get insert a chain in Onshape:

I have not done V5. My guess though is since spin up was supposed to make the discs move quite fast, if the bot is accurate then it would probably really good with some more modifications (Ring sort, Climbing, Wall stake, descorer, and doinker.)

This concept is similar to the “hood mech” that some teams use. I would suggest basing a new robot off of a hood mech as it would prevent several problems that could occur like jamming or rings falling out. However, I love the idea of using some old hero bots as a base for new ideas!

Some teams in our region used this idea and it worked fine. They got 2nd in quals. Should I use this idea since it worked pretty well for other teams?

My team uses an intake with hooks, but what you do is up to you.
