Motors overheating on flywheel

We have a flywheel and our motors over heat after shooting 5 disks. We have “air in a can” to cool the motors but it doesn’t work. Then we have to waste time waiting for the motors to cool down.

Check for friction. Our team had this problem too and after loosening some shaft collars and adding washers it works much better.

Can you send a few pictures on how your built your flywheel? Try to refuse friction on the flywheel

one of the things I noticed with my gearbox is if the axles are not straight, it will be very loud and heat up faster.

Your problem is most likely friction. Other problems could be your gear ratio is too high. Your flywheel compressing too much. Or if your are running the motors at max
