my teams battery cannot withstand being unplugged for more than 20 seconds on full battery. i tried hitting the reset hole with a pointed object, and now there is a strang lighting pattern like:

Batteries are pretty expensive to just randomly be poking the reset before even trying to determine what the problem might be.
The light problem is common and can happen. Plugging the battery in should fix it. If it is dying fast, there is probably a circuit problem in the battery.

Understand when the battery shows the red LED with any of the green LEDs briefly flashing (once per second), an internal cell failure has been detected and the battery is essentially dead.
Time to recycle that one.
This happened to one of my friends. They just deemed it a bad battery and ordered some new ones. Over time, batteries do give in a bit slowly.
