My Brain is not recognizing sensors correctly.

I’m trying to set up and program a VEX IQ brain. I have a GYRO Sensor in port 5. The VEX IQ brain thinks that it is a color sensor. There is nothing plugged into port 7. The brain thinks there is a color sensor plugged in. I’ve tried flashing the brain, and I’m getting the same problems. I’ve tried moving the port that the gyro sensor is plugged into, it still calls it a color sensor.

Hi daddycrusader,

We’re sorry that you have encountered this issue. To help resolve this issue, we will isolate and force reinstall the firmware onto the suspect Gyro Sensor.

Please disconnect all motors, sensors and Controllers from your Robot Brain - then connect only the Gyro Sensor to Port 1 on the Robot Brian. Then connect your Robot Brian to your computer, turn on the Robot Brain, and launch the VEX IQ Firmware Update Utility. If the Gyro Sensor is correctly identified as a Gyro Sensor in the VEX IQ Firmware Update Utility, please go to the menu bar and select Update > Reinstall Current Firmware > All Gyro Sensors to reinstall the firmware.

If the Gyro Sensor is still identified as a Color Sensor, or if you have any further questions, please contact our technical support folks at [email protected] or by calling +1-903-453-0802 so we can provide more detailed information to resolve this issue.
