I was working on my code for the controller and our driver wanted to use the joy-cons to drive but when I tried to code the controller it wouldn’t let me use the joy-cons.

You need to add controller in devices first.
well uhm… here why it doenst work. you dont even call them up. literally all your doing in that code is telling wheels to spin…
heres a bunch of tutorials watch through them. and look through the provided vex ecamples

I did add the controller but everytime I did try to program the controller I couldn’t add the joy cons but I could add all the other buttons.
You can’t code the joysticks, you need to select the joystick on the controller menu, if VEXcode v5 is the same as VEXcode IQ. It may also be because they aren’t drivetrains.
You can, you use this block to get the values of the joysticks
It is also possible in iq with a similar block. Please don’t go around saying something is true without fully knowing what you’re talking about (though I can see how this could be confusing as the block is not named the best)
