Yay Cody!

Oh Cody’s on the team now? Might have to re-think this…

Goooooooooooooooooooooooo Cody.

yeee!
Cody is back in the gamee!

Yes! 8 motor holonomic!

Loving the holonomic Cody!

On a side note, is NAR planning on breaking up into two teams(ex: NAR1, NAR2)?

Currently NAR executives are meeting to figure out what to do with NAR for the forseeable future. Things will be posted as we have a set of rules compeletely set in place, and how much we have expanded, along with a consistent image.

Thanks for your interest, we will be making other threads later on this topic. (maybe)

Hello everyone!

I’m back - or at least for the most part.

I’ll be honest, this wasn’t an easy decision. Not only do I have a lot going on right now, but it was hard for me to personally justify the time, effort and energy required to play this game.

More so than that, it has always been a downhill slope with the college competition. As it has be discussed, it’s difficult to find other people, resources, time and money to do this and these problems are definitely something my old old team PTD struggled with. Our 2010 (Clean Sweep) season was a flop and it left a sour taste in my mouth, one of those bitter lasting tastes that drives you nuts even three years later. Which I think is part of why I want to be back.

But the real story here, has and will always be my friends all over the Vex community that have wanted to see this happen for quite some time. All of us love building robots, we are inspired by the process, the tournament, the games and ultimately each other.

This is where NAR comes in, not only are most of my closest friends on NAR but NAR is all about pooling resources and collaborating across a large distance. We are more than a team, we’re an alliance of people from all over the place who love what they do and because of that love and passion and dedication, we have become really good at the things that interest us. Collectively we are an unbelievably powerful force to be reckoned with. Too many good, smart, determined people who managed to organized themselves into a collective. We are the Borg you will be assimilated, resistance is futile.

So with a great team, a great game this year and a bunch of new stuff to play with, it is my hope to come back and optimistically make up for 2010. If there is one thing I’m known for besides animations and renders here, it has to be my unique and interesting designs (some of which work, others don’t).

On a personal note, when I look back at the Vex community I see a whole lot of the same thing. A lot of the same designs, and a lot of similar looking robots. I see less crazy people doing crazy things, and while I’m not going to advocate such a … let’s call it a philosophy, I do miss it.

My friends are crazy and do crazy things, I’m crazy and do crazy things so if anything it’s sort of my goal to shake things up. Like why would I come back just to make another generic robot? Forget that, H5 is my new baby - and she’s going to be a feisty one.

This much I can promise. -Cody
