Because we can’t get the official objects yet has any one handled the balls and could describe there mass, texture, and size. When will the objects be available I was under the impression that they we could buy them right after worlds.
Weight: 49g +/- 10%, size: 4" according to the field specs.
They are very similar to the Clean Sweep balls.
They are foam, so are soft, and the surface is smooth.

I called VEX a few days ago, and they said they will be available to preorder in a few weeks, but he didn’t know when they will be in stock.
Did vex say why it will be a few weeks? just curious.

The person I talked to said was due to the Long Beach port strike. That backed up all sorts of imports into the country. Long Beach is one of the busiest ports in the US. Darn strike delayed my new washing machine too. :mad:
First impression is… AWESOME!!!
I’m holding the orange ball right now and it is very nice quality (came in welcome kit). Extremely smooth surface, somewhat more firm than I thought it would be. The seam is pronounced so may have some minor effect on the ball in flight if it’s spinning a lot and you are shooting full court. Seems like we should be able to build to tight specs as they aren’t wonky or squishy. Those are technical terms guys.
We have been using the 4" High Traction square tread wheel to estimate size for a launch system. The game ball is slightly smaller than that. It’s probably closer to true 4" than the 4" wheel is though.
I think because of the firmness and smooth finish these things will scatter easily so be careful when you intake. Oh and I just very scientifically bounced it off my forehead with some speed, ouch. :mad: Safety glasses for sure.
