Instead of using a battery, I want to use an adjustable power supply to power my vex controller. I’m using him in a 7 foot robot that has plenty of power and I don’t want to use batteries or the rechargeable power pack any more.
Does anyone know where I could order a power connector that will attach to the Vex board? I would splice the other end of the power connector to my adjustable transformer.
I’ve had great luck so far with my large robots and Vex components. They’re running my Lost in Space 1:1 robot and now my 1:1 Robby the robot is getting vexxed.

The Vex controller uses a standard 7.2 Volt RC battery connector. A repair kit can be purchased at RadioShack - RC 7.2V Battery Pack Connector Repair Kit, Model: 23-444, Catalog #: 23-444. http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2062132&cp=&origkw=rc+battery+connector&kw=rc+battery+connector&parentPage=search

only $3.99.
Splice the connector on to your regulated DC power supply output and you’re ready to go. Keep the voltage around 7.2 to 8.0 volts and keep the polarity straight.
Thanks SkiMoose !!! I just got back from radio shack at lunch and they had them in stock ! I didn’t think it would be that easy.
