New Location for 2026 VEX Robotics World Championship?

Where is this information from?

EPs were sent an email yesterday, and the KB articles were updated.

From Indiana state championships last year I think Indianapolis will make a run for it. The city is set up really well for it. There are plenty of venues to utilize and all in a short walk. All of the boards and elements could be reused from state minimizing the cost of shipping. They could utilize the convention center and Lucas Oil. Also the state has an ep that can handle an event with that many teams.

The EP summit has been held in different places every year in the past, I would not base the location of this year’s EP for future worlds location

I agree, Indianapolis would be a stellar location as it has a large airport to fly in too and lots of facilities nearby. Furthermore, they actually moved the state championship out of Lucas Oil Stadium and into the Fair Grounds. While there may just be a scheduling conflict, I feel that it is plausible that they are moving the location so that if they host worlds there, the teams from Indiana will have something new to experience. By moving the venue for the state, they can maintain the hype for a world championship at Lucas Oil Stadium and the surrounding area. Or maybe there is just a conflict in schedules, but my conspiracy theory mind would like the think otherwise.

My team qualified for state in Indiana, and unfortunately Lucas Oil or any other place in Indianapolis isn’t big enough for all these worldwide teams. We would need something as big as the stadium in Dallas.

Also, the reason for the move from Lucas Oil to the Fair grounds is because of a match at Lucas Oil causing schedule conflict.

I live in Indianapolis as well. The reason for the move this year is because of the NCAA regionals taking place. Although it seems my beloved Bulldogs won’t make it. While the fairgrounds are a better worlds spot the lack of hotels there are a problem. The convention center and Lucas Oil make the most sense. The convention center hosts one of the largest gymnastics meets in the world so they can handle it. Techpoint is already setup for it. This would be a very easy transition. I’ve mentioned this to VisitIndy and they seem to be on board. I can’t see it not happening.

I am hoping for somewhere outside of the U.S.

If doing it in the US is so expensive, doing it outside the US would be worse. I don’t think it’s a viable option.

That would most likely never happen. There are many places where Worlds could be held at but it would never go outside the U.S. It wouldn’t be as viable.
