Vex appears to have added new content for even younger kids than middle school.
123 seems like a very basic coding bot that is just a chassis on wheels.
Go seems to be a simplified version of IQ.

Itâs a good idea. Itâs hard to get high school Kids into robotics. If you cultivate there interest at a younger age it would help. Especially kids who arenât necessarily book smart, but are really good with there hands.
What about Vex Go? It appears to be IQ pieces, but just different electronics. Maybe they would start a competition for it. It seems like you can use Vexcode to program it.

But Iâm about to be super excited if the âGOâ robots use the motors from the Hexbug line (Build Blitz, Gatling Gun) and is programmable.
Looking at this graphic, it is listing IQ for grades 5-8 and V5 for 9-12. I wonder if VEX is just promoting the various levels or if there is some plan for moving grades 6-8 away from V5.
I be,leve that those guidelines are for a classroom setting. If they did get rid of MS VRC, then I bet that a lot would either flock to IQ or stop doing VEX.
I think youâre right on! As much as we like to think competition is everything, VEX probably sells to education 2 to 1 or more.
I think you dropped a zero, 20 to 1 would be closer. In my region, there are about 60 VEXIQ team, in my district there are about 120 VEXIQ kits in classrooms. There are 39 districts so an average of 30 kits per district would put us 20 to one.

That appears GO brains will be programmable by VEXCode blocks also. This would seem to be the perfect entry for 3rd & 4th graders. Built in âIntertial Sensorâ and four ports (for motors, LED Bumper Sensor and Optical Senors) we can prepare them for the full IQ kit with âright-sizedâ tools.

So it looks like there are two on the âfrontâ that we can see, that looks like the existing Hexbug brain with the Power jack and an additional jack (sensor???). The other side has 4 for motors?
In looking closely at the pictures, the two on the front have the weird RJ connectors with the offset, the four on the front have standard looking RJ. Fingers still crossed for the same motors as Hexbug
With only three motors hard to do a nimble clawbot.

I think the orange logoâd port is the power (if similar to the build blitz equipment). Curious what the Blue logoâd port is for, maybe for a sensor. The build blitz brain, which looks really similar came with four motors.
Another difference is that the Build Blitz brain has the âinertial sensorâ logo on it, while I donât see that in the VEX Go brains.
