We have just started using the VEX systems this semester and we have one that has locked up. Any time we turn the system on we get the screen shown in the attachment. The only option is to reboot which just brings us back to the same screen. I had thought maybe reset the brain but the only method I found for that was to hook through USB and reinstall the firmware. Unfortunately everytime I try to hook to the computer through USB it fails. Would appreciate any help you might be able to provide.

gnorwalt,
Sorry about the issue you are seeing. This issue happens when you set a program to auto start and that program has a bug and it hangs. Unfortunately right now the only fix for this is to reload firmware by following these steps:
- Power down the brain.
- Hold the up and down arrow buttons on the brain at the same time you power the brain on.
- This will put the brain into update mode.
- Once in update mode you can plug it into your PC via USB and the VEXos Utility will recognize the device and ask if you would like to upgrade it.
- Upgrade the brain and you should be good to go.
Hope this helps. If the issue persists just contact tech support (+1-903-453-0802) and they can help you with some other trouble shooting.
Thanks
