There is a small chance that there are indeed beta testers selected in the UK however I have not heard about anyone being accepted here dispite a reasonable number applying. Please correct me if I am wrong.
I find this a bit disappointing and @DRow it would be nice to know the reason why the UK doesn’t have any testers.
Additionally is it possible to get a guarantee that the UK will have all the new products will be available and delivered in the UK at a similar time to the US. We had to wait several months before getting the game elements this season and this set us behind from the very start.
I’m sure there are other countries/ regions that have been left out as well and I’m curious to know the reasons behind this.
It seems very few, and I mean 1 or 2, high schoolers were selected in general; also because there would be heavier shipping charges it’s quite possible that VEX didn’t select anyone out of the United States; of course that’s just a guess.
Regardless, the v5 beta seemed to favor coaches and mentors because they’d give a better opinion than a student (as they presume), etc.
There are atleast 5 or 6 members of AURA that have confirmed they were individually accepted into the v5 beta program, so I don’t think VEX is worried about shipping.
Yeah, this is what confused me. I would assume that the students using the control system would be the best source of feedback, but this does not seem to be the case.
I know of (at least) 2 beta units that will be going to the UK. I say that because there were a few applicants that did not list a country / state / city, so there’s no way for me to tell where they live.
I do know for sure that beta units will be shipped to no less than 11 different countries (and 3 continents) outside of the US.
