I tryed to update the system and that diddent do anything. I also tryed different ports. still nothing
IQ generation 1 or 2 brain ?
If generation 2, does the distance sensor show in the devices screen ?
gen 2 brain with a gen 2 sensor (i also tryed gen 1 stuff as well)
This could be a code issue, distance sensor configuration issue, hardware issue, or you just placed it backwards so that it can’t detect anything.
We might need your code and/or pictures of your robot to help you with this.
also yes it shows up (on both)
so if it shows in the devices screen and also shows distances changing, then either your code has an issue or your expectations of what it may detect and at what distance may be different to what it can achieve.
I’ve run the same code on other robots tho. What happens is that when I plug it in, it says that it’s recognized and connected and then the distance just never changes no matter what I do
It’s hard to help when you are being so economical with information.
Let’s start over
You are using an IQ generation 2 brain. Is the firmware is up to date ?
It should be 1.0.8.
You have the IQ distance sensor, it looks like this.
When going to the devices screen you can see the sensor, but the numbers do not change ? Do you see a screen like this ? If the numbers do not change then what happens, does it show dashes “—” ?
Have you tried a different cable between the brain and the distance sensor ?
Do you have another distance sensor you can try with this same brain ?
no dashes but ill try other cables / parts!
sorry I’ve been so “economical” with info. kinda an issue I seem to have.
Worked! turned out, the sensors that I tried were bricked. thx for the help!
Interesting, I wonder how that happened. The distance sensor can only be updated using an IQ generation 2 brain, and we have never pushed an update.
¯_(ツ)_/¯
no real idea what happened but I think they were dammaged
I still cant spell lol
