Notebook Pen color?

When doing my team’s notebook, I’ve been using whatever pen I have on hand. Due to this, many pages of our notebook are in purple or red pen. Is it alright to have pen colors other than black or blue if they are still legible?

Yes, you can use different colors for pens.

I would highly recommend to do your notebook digitally. Doing it digitally allows you to make your notebook cleaner, allows you to fix mistakes easier, and go back and change stuff, among other things.

Are we allowed to switch to a digital notebook after having started one on paper? I’ve been wanting to do my team’s notebook digital but was unaware that was an option until I’d already started my paper notebook. I appreciate the advice.

Yes, this would be perfectly acceptable. However, you would need to scan or otherwise upload your physical pages into your digital engineering notebook. Also, keep in mind that if a competition in your area requires physical notebooks, you will need to print your digital pages.

Yes, as long as it’s eligible, there are no restrictions as far as I know. However, if you are using color coding at all in your notebook for anything, this will probably make it quite confusing.

I personally like making my notebook online, so your hands don’t shred. This is coming from a journalist, and I’ve tried both. Yes, in paper journal it is more sentimental, but in online it can be too. I use black in my journal, and a font that’s not too goofy or professional (if you want to know I use lexend) and it works because I’ve somehow  won about 5 design awards! Don’t give up and don’t stress too much! You got this!

I sincerely doubt that the color of your font or type of font affected your standing in judged awards.

We have a variety of different colors and we still got excellence, so I guess it’s okay :ok_hand:

We can try it for states!

black would do. Use other colours to highlight important information.

I would greatly recommend using a black pen or pencil but assigning different highlighter colors to show new, important, and innovate award stuff and assigning different page numbers to each item. So, for example, page 61 has the robot and an important part of the robot highlighted and page 62 has a visual of the part, its function, and why it’s important.

Hi,
I would advise using black for the notebook, as it is a more basic colour, but as @1060B_JazzyJumpers has said, you can highlight or change colours for important info and key words. Just try to it with an erasable pen, so any mistakes can be easily cleaned up without a mess, keeping your notebook presentation high.

  • All pages/entries intact; no pages/entries or parts of pages/entries removed or omitted; errors can be crossed out using a single line (so they can be seen) rather than erased or removed

I would not recommend erasing mistakes.
