Number of Students in VEX?

Hi, I did VEX in high school and am now in college and as one of my assignments i am updating/writing a through article about VEX on Wikipedia. I couldn’t find any relevant updated data anywhere so i thought i’d ask here. I was wondering if you could give me an estimate for the following:

how many students are now involved in VEX?
how many teams are there?

I believe the numbers for the VEX Robotics Competition are:
7,500+ teams
50,000+ students

I’m curious, JVN, how do you guys estimate team sizes and the number of total students? As far as I can tell, the number of students on a team isn’t regulated or indicated during team registry, and I’ve seen teams as small as 1 student or as large as 20. I’m interested to know how you figure it out.

When filling out the registration, teams have to put in an estimated team size (like 1, 2-5, 6-9, …)
