Okay so I did some research and I know back in Jan 2022 there was a change made about Nylon screws (they were made illegal) but I have a team that states that has changed and in this years game manual (high stakes 2024-2025) you can now use Nylon screws. I cannot find it and do not want a team to build out a robot using the wrong parts. They have also stated they used nylon screws last year and nothing was said. Anyone have any thoughts?

Make sure your teams know the applicable rules so they can defend their bot during inspection. Here is R21:
I don’t see anything that specifically refers to fastener material. With that said, the red box does specify that if the screw offers any extra functionality (other than weight savings), it will not pass inspection.
Thank you and that is what I thought but seeing something very different in 2022 vs now made me question what I was telling the kids.

I understand that but if they make a specific part (in this case nylon screws) illegal for a specific year and then decide that same part is now legal would it not be found somewhere after the initial posting?
That would be Game Manual for current season, and if unclear - then ask on Official Q&A… All opinions, be it here on forum or from other sources do not matter - if you want official clarification ask on the Official Q&A.
