# of wheels on 2.75" wheels

We are planning out a drivetrain to use and we have a debate. We were debating if we should use 6 wheels on 2.75" wheels or 8 wheels on 2.75" wheels. What would be better and why?

It depends on the drivetrain, if the wheels are as close together as possible, go with 8 for less tipping, but you can also do 6 with gaps, which is what I do in this post, to make it easier to park.

By this response I am assuming you are gearing down or up and not doing direct drive.

While 8 wheels will have more friction and be less maneuverable there will be more motor mounting spots.

For a 6 wheel drive you have to stack motors or add extra gears to the drive to accommodate 6 motors.
