Has anyone else opened an optical sensor and had this problem with it straight out of the box?
It doesn’t show up in the devices menu when plugged in and isn’t responding to anything in my program (such as code to turn on the white LED). Second post will be a picture.
Also I might add that it gives me the “burnt out port” look with the red led at the plug.
Is the brain’s firmware up to date?
Not sure. That would make a lot of sense.
What can I use to trigger/check for updates?
Tap on the brain in the device info screen (same screen as your photo above) and it will display the firmware version - the latest version is 1.0.12.
Thanks @holbrook. I suppose I would have never encountered this issue if I used Vexcode, but I’m using PROS this year and as far as I’m aware there is no way to see if the firmware is up to date. The problem is fixed, and it was just the firmware. My typical type of stupid mistake. Thanks for pointing out the answer, @sazrocks. I wouldn’t have thought of it on my own apparently.
