This has been a problem for a long time when large events would run more than 8 alliances. The round of 16, if I recall correctly, always ended up on the bottom as it does on your example. With there now being 16 two team alliances, then yes I agree, the web site needs to be adjusted accordingly. Even with 12 two-team alliances, the top 4 alliances get byes into the quarterfinals, the other 8 alliances are in the “round of 16”.
