Oregon VEX Tournament at Sandy HS

Yesterday was the second annual event at Sandy High School in Sandy, Oregon. Under mostly-sunny skies(!), 21 teams competed in front of a dedicated and noisy crowd. Results:

Special recognition: 278D from West Salem High. This team had a robot that was full of gremlins from the beginning of the day. Despite finishing qualifying in dead last with an 0-7 record, this team kept smiling and had a great attitude. The judges felt this was a terrific example of good sportsmanship and grace in a stressful situation.

The event went great – everyone had 7 matches in qualifying and were still on our way home by 5:30. My thanks to the organizers and volunteers for a flawless event. (OK – almost flawless, the scorekeeping computer had to be rebooted during the first Quarterfinal match…)
