Over Under Pneumatics Wall Expansion Stability

Hi, I am Jack from 10863B.

We have a pneumatics expansion system that is stable but it is not very supportive of the wall and gives under pressure. Any tips?

What pressure do you the pneumatics pumped up to? I’m not sure but it could be caused by not having enough pressure, also be sure to check for loose fittings, leaks, etc.

Like previously mentioned, you could increase the pressure that the cylinders run at, which will work well for the first few actuations. You could also use an over-center lock to keep the wings from caving in when pushing triballs. This video is a great demonstration of a possible way to keep the wings locked in place when pushing triballs. Hope this helps!

Yes, the pressure is always at 100 when we start. Everything is fine. We just want to figure out a way to make it even stronger!

You could try locks, like robokauz has. Just search robokauz wing locks on yt.

Another option is to use the air cylinder to operate a toggle mechanism. Here is an example of a toggle clamping system from a plastics injection molding machine clamping system, where the air cylinder (or usually a hydraulic cylinder in this application) operates a toggle to multiply the force considerably:

Thanks, I have seen that video but I am still confused about the mechanism that his license plate covers.

I would remove the flat bearing as it probably flexes a lot under load.

Also, make sure the wings are in line with your chassis because at the moment it looks like it sticks out forward which would make it a concave shape so you could only push 1 triball.

I believe the number plate just covers a rubber band that pulls the locking bar backwards when the wings are collapsed so it doesn’t get in the way.

Look up the definition of ploughing in the game manual.

A picture or video of the wing when it’s flexing would help a lot.

Hope this helps.
