So, are we allowed to pain the metal parts on our robots for High Stakes?

Yes. I use some random spray paint from Home Depot and it looks great.

As already mentioned, please check <R9>. There’s a region-specific exception for painting metal in mainland China though, as mentioned in this Q&A: Is powder coating allowed? : Robot Events.

I was confused about this. @Samuel_Yao Do you know if this is a law in China or a rule from Vex?

As far as I know, this is a rule set by the RECF/VEX China specifically for mainland China. I doubt this would be related to Chinese legislation.
