Hi,
I was wondering if two teams pass the same ball back and fourth 4 times. Later on in the match the teams score 4 goals would all 4 passes count for points?
Thanks

Read rule SC5 it tells you there
Hi, the manual is pretty clear about how passes are scored. Give it another read and ask again if you still have questions.
I read the rules prior to posting on this forum and I’m still not 100% on the answer. It states it resets AFTER LOADING. Can the ball be passed back and forth repeatedly after loading and it counts as a pass.
I think you are slightly misunderstanding the rules/not phrasing your question correctly. A ball can only be scored for a pass once per “cycle”. What I mean is, let’s say the loader loads the ball, and robot A picks it up before passing it to robot B. That counts for 1 pass. If robot B was to pass the same ball back to robot A, it would not gain the alliance any more points, as the ball has already been passed. The game manual is pretty clear that you cannot just pass a ball back and forth, I recommend you ask one of your teammates for future clarifications as often getting a second opinion can help if you have read the game manual.
Please read to for a possible answer. (Foster, how do I make a link to the section in the manual?)
Thank you for the clarification
< SC5 > An Alliance receives credit for a Pass once both Robots independently contact a Ball before it
leaves the Field.
a. For the purposes of this rule, “independent contact” refers to a moment where only one Robot is contacting the Ball. If both Robots are contacting the Ball, this is not considered a Pass.
b. Each time a Ball is Loaded, it is treated like a new Ball. Any previous Robot contact and/or Pass tracking is “reset.”
c. A Ball can count for a maximum of one Pass each time it is Loaded through the Loading Station.
d. Balls that are Rapid Loaded directly into a Starting Zone are not eligible for Passes
So you get one pass per score.
Thanks!
So I input the question into co pilot and here was the reply. Certainly! In the Rapid Relay game, the same Ball can indeed be passed back and forth between Robots, and it counts as multiple passes. Each time the Ball is successfully passed from one Robot to another (or from one part of a Robot to another) before being scored, it contributes to your Alliance’s total Pass count. So, strategic passing can significantly impact your score!
So who should we trust ? AI or Foster.
c. A Ball can count for a maximum of one Pass each time it is Loaded through the Loading Station.
seems pretty clear to me.
and I think this topic has run its course.
