My team splits a room with a learning center and math room. over time we started to notice that some of our vex spin up discs got taken. i asked my team if any of them knew anything about it they said no. then over time we noticed that 2 controllers, 1 brain, 5 chargers, a charging dock and 3 batteries were just taken from us. We asked the school if there is anything they can do they said no. then we asked if we could extend out budget they said that they could not due to it being our foul for loosing our equipment. we have little budget at first and still do. any ideas of what we can do? Thanks!

Just an idea but get a lockable storage bin they seem pretty cheap seen some for 30 buck for 20 gallons and put the valuables in there

And throw in an AirTag so you can track if someone takes the tote itself. Might find the rest of your parts…

There are laws against having cameras in classrooms, but checking any camera outside the room where the items were stolen might also help. Have you talked to the adult in charge of the robotics program about this issue?
I don’t really know what your situation is like but with my team we got a lock for our cupboard so I would suggest you do the same but good luck

Cameras are REALLY hard to do well (available and clear footage to be usable), budget aside.
Lock the stuff up.
I did talk to the adult about it but the teacher in there that is teaching learning center and math most of the time has a sub that dose not know about the rules. dose anyone have a good cheap way of locking up stuff?

I know this is V5 discussion and not IQ but I have thought about opening one of our bad Gen2 batteries and seeing if there’s room to fit an AirTag on the inside of the battery compartment. Probably not but would be a cool expensive idea
