For gods sake I want the meta name to be interesting and not the conveyor bot pls not that.

I know that the “snail bot” design has been around since at least Round Up:


And there was a team (40B) in Elevation that used a similar design (albeit different in some ways) that looked like a snail:

Sorry… I remember wrongly - it was in 2011.

And @RoboCatz just posted an even earlier snail that I have forgotten.

I’ve just been calling them hoods. To me the hood doesn’t really spiral enough to be a snail, but I do see the resemblance lol.
