Piston Position?

So I’m working on my 4-bar lift for my elevated shooter and I’m wondering if how you position the pneumatic cylinder affects how smoothly the lift goes up.

Not exactly answering your question, but I know a lot of high levels teams use the placement here:

Their lift was a little violent but they demonstrated how effective it is.

Yes, the position matters a lot.
Think of this like a lever: the closer you put your force (actuator) to the fulcrum (pivot), the shorter the distance the actuator would move but at the same time using more force oer travel unit lift the load.
The farther the actuator is from the fulcrum, the farther it needs to travel, but needs less force per travel unit.
You have to find a sweet spot so the actuator isn’t stressing out too much.

Ok. This makes a lot of sense, now I think I have a plan.

Ty for the picture, I ve been watching the vids over and over and couldn’t quite get it. And to be more clear I was talking about what angle the pistol n should be at like this: / or \
