Does anyone know what the best cleaning supply is for the system? It is made of a different material than other systems like the 360, PS2, or Xbox. Everytime I clean it, it either smears, smudges, or leaves lint behind. I use Dirtex which is pretty good stuff, but if REALLY know, please choose the best method.
what do you think of the PS3, i am assuming you have one?
one idea is one of those cans of compressed air, they will blow dust and stuff off and can easily get to tight spaces.
Using canned air works very well. It can even go into tight spaces which is good.
I do have a PS3. I am one of the few. I love it, but the popular games everyone has been wanting are all coming out in the fall and winter:mad: But I have used Dust-Off, which is what I assume you are talking about when you say compressed air. It does not do much, it does better than the Dirtex, but not by far. I tried dry dusting today and it seems that you have to have a COMPLETELY clean duster or else every little piece of dust from whatever else will stick to it. You would have thought they would have made something easy to clean rather than making it pretty and shiny.

I know what to do use compressed air for the internals and a tack rag or a very fine cloth such as those used for cleaning glasses.
I never thought about using one of the microfiber cloths before. Any you can’t get into the internals easily, think how Apple does their stuff, that’s how the ps3 is.
In that situation i’d drill a hole about 1/8 inch in the back or bottom of the case and put the canned air nozzle extension in there. So what if it was expesive and will void the warranty:D
because that sounds logical when my Playstation 3 costed $1200.
I use microfiber cloths to clean my ipod and i also spray a little glass cleaner (the kind you get at a eye docoter) on the cloth, it drys fast and cleans it really good.

1200 is kind of a lot of money dude. but, why was it so expensive? did you buy it from ebay or another person, instead of a retailer?

I go mine a week after it came out and I bought it from Ebay. Mine did come with 2 games, an extra controller (which beats any controller out there except maybe the Wii), and The 60GB system. And yes he aws kidding.
I’m messin with him, he knows I have more commmon sense than that.
try usin a damp papertowel on it to wipe then a dry one

oh and dont ever use window cleaner or alcohol based products…i tried this with a burned cd when it had dust on it and when it dried the cd was worst than before
Huh? I’m not cleaning the Blue-Ray. I am talking about the PS3’s external cleaning. I worded that funny.

It also depends on were you got it and where you live because of supply and demand.
