Pls Help, I'm making a Sumo-Bot

can someone please send ideas or links on how to make a Sumo Bot out of the normal pieces from this box (3d printing is allowed(school project))

it just needs to push another bot out of a circle it doesn’t entirely need to look like a sumo wrestler.

Thought you wanted to build a tractor…
Generally sumo bots would not get built from a VexIQ kit, however, make it low center of gravity and lots of torque in the drivetrain so you can push your opponent.

Me too, you even got some good tractor tips. :tractor: :tractor: :tractor: How did it turn out? Can you post pictures?

On Sumo, there are two schools of thought. :men_wrestling:

  1. Slow, high torque, use strength to push them out of the ring
    2)Fast, high speed, use speed to have momentum to smash them out of the ring.

I agree, but if the circle is large enough the opposing robot can just keep running around and avoid getting hit.

Here are some possible ideas with constraints:

Also, are you allowed to lift the other robot? You can use a forklift with a plate at the end to prevent the wheel movement, or pick it up from the side.

Are you allowed to turn the other robot over or on its side? You can shoot a hook out from the robot like some spin-up designs to hook a part of the robot (preferably the top) and pull it down. (kind of risky though if you miss or if it breaks)

Do you have to be within the Vex IQ size limits? You could possibly make an extremely sturdy wing to just push them off.
