Pneumatic cylinder thread end/nut size

Since only the original nuts from my vast assortment of similar sized nuts fit their threads, I am assuming that the threads on the end of the SMC pistons shafts are metric. Does anyone know for sure? Does anyone know the correct size for the nut?

It’s been a while since I bought those nuts, but I believe they are #6-40.

They are not metric. We went looking for these once but failed to turn up anything. Give SMC a call (or VEX support?).

If you read the pneumatics kit data sheet, I think you’ll see they are #6-40 nuts. See page 2, step #3. This seems to be in agreement with the response given by Eli Osornio in the link I provided above.

#6-40 are what I was looking for. I had some # 6 but not 40 threads per inch. Thanks to all.
