How do these things work? I’ve seen several teams say that they can get up to 40 actuations out of their pneumatic claws. If you use a pneumatic claw, how do you get that many actuations? How do you tune the claw to get that many actuations?
I haven’t actually finished this part of my bot, but I’m personally having a two-piston single-acting claw. It will push when closing the claw, and a minimal amount of rubber bands pull it back open when the pressurr is released. This should allow for sufficient actuationd. I don’t know about a pressure regulator, though.
IIRC the vex website says you get 45 actuations per tank. Assuming passive release, 2 tanks, and 1 piston per claw arm, you get 45 actuations. I haven’t tested this number, I don’t know how powerful each actuation is at actuation 45, I don’t even have pneumatics, but it should be theoretically possible.
