we are having issues with our 5v valve on the pneumatic system. the motors can work with up to 12v so would it be a problem if we replace them with 12v valves?
By “valve” I assume you mean solenoid. The only legal solenoids are the ones that VEX sells, which are listed in the official list:

All other pneumatic components are illegal.

Even if 12V solenoids were legal they wouldn’t work because the voltage on 3-wire port rail that solenoids are pugging in is 5V (not the full 12V that is available to the motors via smart ports).
