Pneumatics Force Calculations

Hey so we are trying to find out how many/where to place pneumatics on our robot. I wanted to know how much force is applied over time, or just the force, applied by the single stroke pneumatics kit. Also if grouping kits together affected this by much (like two pushing something).Yeah… It would be nice, thanks. (Actually what would be really nice are the constants relating pressure to the output force. If it includes calculus its fine, it just makes it much more fun. )

A simple search for the word Pneumatics returns this as the 5th result Piston Rates for Vex Pneumatics and elastic force coefficient data. It is on topic and should lead you to the info you need.

Please search first.

See “Max Force.”

Plus for any piston, you can measure the force by multiplying the area of the cylinder head by the pressure of the gas inside of it.
