Do you need a pneumatic if you only need to power 1 piston

First off, I’d advise you use the correct terminology. I’m going to assume when you say pneumatic, you mean the reservoir, and the piston is referring to the pneumatic cylinder.

But to answer the actual question: yes. If you’re going to use any cylinders, you need a reservoir, since that air is the only thing that actually powers the cylinder.
