Hi, Jamil from 10863A here. Coming with a few questions about alternatives for the unparralled power delivered by the infamous vex pnuematics kit. Our team unfortunatly does not currently have pnuematics available to us. We are anticipating its arrival but as engineers we understand the notion of not counting on the future to solve present problems. So we come to you in search of substitutes for the vex pnuematics kit. We udnerstand high-strength gears, shafts, and motors to generate more power and torque, but we are reaching out to understand more ways that teams generate sufficient amount of power without the assistance of the expensive pnuematics kit.
Sounds interesting, It would help if we how you wanted to use pneumatics on your bot to diagnose, and solve your problem without pneumatics!
Could you elaborate on what problems and systems you need to power without the use of pneumatics so the forum can better help you? Pictures or names of systems would really help us to assist you.
What im search of is a system for wings and elevation that have maximized torque and strength in substiution for pnuematics.
With a prolonged search, elevation without pneumatics seems to be not very probable or efficient. You could with a ratchet, though I don’t have any videos to go off of for the moment. wings you could use a 2.4v motor to save motors and have them go out that way. The only issue with this method is that when the wings are out they rarely have enough strength to push triballs and fold back in when trying. I hope this helps you!
My team also doesn’t have pneumatics so we built wings using this concept. It’s just a drawing since I don’t have a picture of it on hand.
