Pneumatics teaching and builds for students

Hi community,

I teach high school robotics and use the VEX V5 ktis and STEM labs with my students. One of the concepts I need to teach is pneumatics. Does anyone have any practical ways to use pneumatics with the VEX V5 kits? I have a few pneumatics kits and am looking for some useful or fun ways to incorporate these into our VEX kits.

If its just for the use of education, one fun way is to make an “electrical generator” or a pneumatic air refiller.

You can learn a lot about solenoids and timing and the torque of pneumatics this way, and you can backdrive the flywheel and time the solenoids to repressurize the air, so they can learn more about those concepts.
