That’s where people are disagreeing.

No, my on the streets comment was just to point out how ridiculous saying there was no context was, as it’s abundantly clear VRC is the context. Saying the survey has no context was just ridiculously dismissive when I pointed out a valid issue. As for editing it, mostly it needs to be clear if the preference is for Bo1 v. Bo3 in a vacuum for VRC or if it’s for VRC’s new Bo1 format v. its old Bo3 format.

It’s still a flaw. Have you noticed the person who replied disagrees with two of you about how I should respond properly to that question? After going through the next pages, I still can’t answer it.

Perhaps it’s not us who disagree on what you should respond, but you not providing enough context yourself as to what you wanted us to help you answer. My response saying you should put BO1 is given the context of the Vex survey, whereas some of the other responses were in the context of your personal opinion.

Ah, I see what you are getting at now. Correct me if I’m wrong, but you are making the distinction between just Bo1 and Bo3 and entire new completion format VEX is implementing. Personally, I would assume that it is referring to the entire format in general. I would assume this because that is what the entire discussion on this forum has been about to begin with. But I see your point that this question has room for interpretation and agree with it for the most part. But you could have just said that “Such and such could be a flaw and here is how we could fix it” but instead you say that the survey is “begging to collect false information” or that “anyone who understands surveys well should be stuck with the same inability to believe the results”, both of which sound like personal attacks. Your posts give off an impression of being condescending, which is why I chose to respond in the first place. I believe that many of us would agree that our mentors should take the path of encouraging others with constructive criticism rather than using that criticism to demean others. Of course I could be interpreting your post wrong. Conveying attitude is near impossible over the internet. I apologize in advance if any of my posts seemed condescending, I did not intend them to be.

Seeing that OP has not taken a stance on the issue I don’t see a reason to continue this circular, unproductive argument, and I hope to cut it off here before it spirals down any further.

Man! Didn’t think people would get so heated about a simple survey. But yes, I meant Bo1 vs Bo3 in the new competition format, specifically VRC, not in general. Thought that would have been clear, but I’ll edit and clarify the question.

I’ll also add a bit on 2 team vs 3 team alliances, I don’t know if there is a way for those who’ve already taken it to edit and answer those responses, but if someone could figure that out, it would be nice.

And finally, I’m sorry it’s so long, but I’m hoping that maybe there will be some correlations between the different types of teams that exist in VRC and what their beliefs are. I’m also using some of the data to decided how I want to do things when I start up in the fall(hence the question on how your organization is run)

Yup. And others have said the question is in a vacuum, not referring to the format in general. So we’re seeing one set of answers to two different questions.

I probably was a bit harsh. But do realize the OP sent people to this thread in directly reply to a thread where this very issue showed up as a major point.

You’ll find this is always a catch-22 with surveys looking at enough to see if there are correlations. If you don’t ask enough, there will be things you don’t see, costing you information. If you ask enough, people may get tired and stop answering well, costing you information. I can honestly say I haven’t a clue how to figure out the sweet spot in advance. Something I have seen done a lot is to make the comment part following a selection optional. That lets people get through fasters and answer about greater variety of things, but then you may lose some important information you hope to get, really the same catch-22.

I believe if people reload the survey and the select the edit your response you should be able to answer the new questions.
Also, thanks again for doing this! I’m sure that the survey will be very insightful!

Started it, but some of the questions seemed repetitive and in my opinion not everything should be required… Hope you get some others to answer, but I just couldn’t keep going.
