Polycarb material as a claw

I keep getting mixed answers from local teams on this.

Can I use the 1/16" polycarbonate material along with VEX materials to custom build a claw mechanism? My idea behind this was it would be light weight and have a custom shoe like fit around the cones.
I am aware of the rules regarding the decorations.

Anyone have an answer on this? Thanks again!

Yes

To add to the answer, here’s the relevant section from the game manual:

f. Non shattering plastic from the following list; polycarbonate, acetel monopolymer (Delrin),
acetal copolymer (Acetron GP), POM (acetal), ABS, PEEK, PET, HDPE, LDPE, Nylon (all
grades), Polypropylene, FEP; as cut from a single 12" x 24" sheet up to 0.070" thick.
i. Plastic can be mechanically altered by cutting, drilling or bending etc., but it cannot
be chemically treated, melted or cast. Teams may heat the polycarbonate to aid in
bending.

So be sure that all the parts you make for your claw mechanism, when flattened (assuming you’re planning to bend the plastic, will all fit into a 12x24 sheet.

yes. worked awesomely so back in Roundup for team 80.
