Possession and In contact Clarification

Do the rings scored in a mobile goal still counts if the time ends (including the 5 second delay rule) with the robot still in possession of the Mobile goal?(Like still grabbed into it)

Does it still count if the robot is just touching the mobile goal?

The criteria for scored rings, as in SC3, does not include whether a robot currently possesses the mobile goal. As the criteria are evaluated at the end of the match to determine whether rings are scored, robot possession does not affect whether rings are scored or not. However, robots contacting the rings on the mobile goal may affect whether the rings are scored.

Please check SC3 in the game manual.

You are correct to have the OP look to SC3, but be sure you are referencing the current manual when answering rules questions. Robot (and floor) contact is not a part of SC3 in manual 2.1.

Apologies, I accidentally referenced an older version of the game manual when I replied and I didn’t realize that until now. Robot contact is no longer part of the criteria for scoring a ring.

I just want to be sure, does this mean that if I score on a MoGo, and I’m still clamping it, the ring will have a point value?

I understand wanting to be sure about something, but have confidence in your ability to read primary sources. We’ve already seen a member of the forum inadvertantly refer to an older version of the manual.

What rule governs Ring Scoring? How does it define a Scored Ring?

Here is a link to the Game Manual which should always point to the most recent version, helpfully in HTML format for computer and mobile devices: V5RC High Stakes Game Manual - VEX Robotics

Neither contact with a mobile goal nor contact with rings will prevent the rings from being scored, per the current game manual. Additionally, contacting a mobile goal in a corner does not prevent it from being “placed.”

Oh yes, I seem to have forgotten that… (well that makes our autonomous a lot easier…)

@Not_so_chrip sorry for the confusion, rings scored on mobile goals will be counted regardless if the robots is touching the mobile goals or rings.

This is very much not the solution. Please read the current rules.
