Potential third party internet protocol product for Cortex

Hi everyone

There is a robotics office next to my co-op and since I’m the president of the SFUBC VEXU team at the university, they asked for some of my opinion and ideas on what they are doing. They have already made a prototype robot (not vex) and they have a wireless protocol set up over the wifi so anyone in the world can go onto their website and control it!

One of their main issues is robot hardware compatibility. If they bring this pubic to hobbyists and the like, there are literally thousands of different chips and hardware that different robots use or different purposes. Since I know the Vex system well and know that there are a lot of teams internationally that use the Vex system…

So I suggested they make a hardware module, specific for the Vex Cortex, that you can plug into your cortex and have anyone in the WORLD controlling your robot via keyboard or their own joystick! Think about that… we can now all drive around each other’s robots and help troubleshoot, etc in real time over the air!

I think this has a huge potential in this community. each wireless “module” is the size of ½ the cortex and should cost less than $50. They will start to look more into it if there is interest

So if you can fill out this short survey, that would be greatly appreciated!
