Power tool battery carry on

This is related to the logistics for attending Signature event, so although it is not technical questions, I hope the moderator will allow this question.

Can we bring power tools and their batteries with us on air plane? Taking the batteries in carry on baggage? We need air pump for robot pneumatics. It is just like the batteries you see all the most common cordless power drills.

My understanding is that FAA allows <=100Wh, so a 18V 5ah battery is 90Wh, so should be OK?

Thanks!

Yes, you can bring them. You will need to carry them on, the same as your robot batteries. My teams carry on controllers too, although I’m not sure if this is required. Also- be sure to leave extra time to go through TSA. In my experience sometimes we make it through no problem, and other times they want to sook in every tool box and gearbag.
