Practice with a Virtual Driver Skills Match

Virtual Driver Skills Matches are now available for VIQRC and V5RC!

This new page allows team members to connect their VEX V5 Controller or VEX IQ Controller to their computer and drive the Hero Bot to practice on the High Stakes or Rapid Relay field. This uses the same Virtual Skills Key as VEXcode VR Virtual Skills, so any registered V5RC or VIQRC team can hop on today and start practicing their driving.

Is there a leader board for this like the coding virtual skills. If so, is there a world’s ticket for no.1?

Not anything official that I know about, no.

My High Scores are 76 in VIQRC & 29 in V5RC, though :stuck_out_tongue:

There are currently no plans for this. It is intended to be more of a supplementary learning/practice tool.

Could we (forum users) use this topic for posting high scores?

Sure.

If it delves out of control, we can break it off into its own thread or something.

Is there any chance of support for non VEX controllers being added? Just wondering because team members may not always have access to a VEX controller, like if they are at home and wish to practice a bit.

No - it’s for driving practice only.

Not at this time. The intention is to practice the same way you would be practicing for a competition - with an official controller.

I can’t access it through the link in the article, which just takes me to the hour of code page. Is it somewhere on there?

Hello, is there anyway to create your own robot and put it in this virtual driving skills? Also, would there be any enhancement such as multiplayer mode with others? Thank you for such an amazing game.

VEXcode VR + Virtual Skills is not a replacement for competing and building your own robot - it is also not intended to be a simulator, either.

The intention of these tools is to provide a fun and engaging way to practice coding and driving using the current year’s Competition Hero Robot.

Since Driving Skills and Autonomous Coding Skills are both “single robot”, there’s no plans for multiplayer.

I use a chrome book and it is kinda hard to take a picture because it is plugged in but when I go to the website and connect my controller and press the buttons nothing happens it just keeps on saying not connected

oh yeah also its v5 ( this is for the 20 character limit)

Could you be using a faulty plug? That was one of the problems that I had when I tried.

no the USB was charging my controller

The same thing happened to me, it showed the icon but it didn’t connect. It worked when I got a working plug.
