Pre-autonomous functions?

This is my first year in VRC, so please don’t attack me, thank you.

What’s the purpose of a pre-autonomous function (give examples please)? And what should I put in it? Like I know what my autonomous and driver-control does and its purpose, but what do I do for pre-autonomous? Do I even need to put anything there?

Anything you want to happen before autonomous starts.

Say you wanted to calibrate your sensors by reading 5 seconds of data and taking the average.

Say you want to have a menu on the screen to let you select which autonomous routine to run.

Stuff like that.

Yup, not necessary for competition. Just helpful to have depending on your needs
