Warren II is coming up fast! Just like last time, post the robot you will be bringing to the competition, and let us know some facts about it!
I will be posting some pictures of our current robot sometime in the next few days. We are working on getting the robot 100%. I can tell you some skills projections we are shooting for.
In Robot Skills we hope to hit 90-100. If we practice some more this week, we should be able to hit that fairly easily.
In Programming Skills we will easy hit 53 points, if we have time we will up that score to 65-70.
We will be having multiple autonomous per zone. They are all very consistent. Our stashing auto stashes the buckyball and gets back to the tile in less than 5sec.
I’ll post details/pics of the bot later, and we will be doing a full reveal before State.
We just perfected our 73 point Programming Skills run! It’s working very constantly now, and we should be set for tomorrow! We should be getting 90-100 in robot skills, but we will see. We didn’t get any driver skills practice in
If I get to it, I will post some pictures of our robot
We did okay at this tournament. This was our first time really driving with the new robot, so we didn’t do the best. We placed 4th place in our division after qualification, and the 1st place seed (323X) picked us for their first pick. We went through the eliminations pretty well, but ended up losing the finals due to our lift getting caught because we forgot to fix a standoff (lol, we failed). We are happy with how we preformed. We learned a lot, which is great.
We did not get 73 in programming (our code was wacky at skills). It didn’t want to back up as much as we told it to Oh well. We will be getting it at state though.
We absolutely failed at Driver Skills. For one, we hit a 4th buckyball into the goal zone from the tile while holding 3 in our robot, and apparently that DQ’s you?! This is what we did: VEX TOSS UP 7856A 103 points robot skill - YouTube . We really just need to practice driving. Our robot is solid, and works very well. We just need to get some practice with it, and perfect it.
We should be set for State! Our autonomous will be 100%, and our driving will be significantly better.
Congrats 5003, 7701, and 7702 for winning See you guys at state.
Here is our robot stashing 4 buckyballs in autonomous. Coop autonomous’ are nice :): http://youtu.be/gzIvKLGOHy4
Oh, I forgot that We got 21, but it was going perfect. We would have had it if it backed up the correct distance. We should have had 73 easy. Oh well, we have State in 2 weeks
I’ll try to upload the video of our practice 73 programming run.
Disclaimer: I think I know what you’re talking about, but perhaps not. I assume you’re referencing driving over the bump with three buckyballs and pushing them into the scoring zone(s).
This is the fourth time you’ve tried to run this skills run… pushing more than four buckyballs on your run is intentional. Karthik has yet to say “ignore the manual.”
Anyway, I can’t wait to see the programming autonomous fully functional. The way you describe it, I’m sure it’ll be one of the best in the world so far.
I don’t think you know what I am talking about. After the skills situation at your skills tournament, we did not do that maneuver anymore (holding 3 in our intake then driving through the 3 in the bump; even though it is a legal action per Karthik). We didn’t want to cause anymore confusion for the refs.
I posted the link in my previous post of what we did.
We picked up the 3 buckyballs, turned around and went directly over the bump (we didn’t even push the large ball into the buckyballs on the bump). Once over the bump we hit the pre-load on the MZ starting tile (we didn’t even see it). I guess when we bumped the pre-load, the force of our push moved it into the scoring zone which I guess was illegal to do.
We will be thoroughly testing our 74 point programming skills run. Now that we are just practicing, I’m sure it will work perfectly -_-
EDIT: Here are multiple threads showing our maneuver is legal
Ah, my bad. Yeah, I’d agree that’s not illegal. I’ll talk to our refs when I get a chance. Not sure if it’s fruitful because I don’t know who’s running skills at Indiana State.
We absolutely failed our first two qualification matches, then did okay the rest We will be driving like crazy between tomorrow and Indiana State. We should be a lot better by then.
Let me know what you think about our robot. It can always get better
Your robot is awesome. We have been racking our brains on our catapult. We can throw good but we have to have some momentum when we throw. We can’t sit still like you can. Any thoughts or insight?
You could fix your intake so it does not get stuck onto the stash and also more efficient autonomous modes that will never fail on you! Possibly he ability to hang?
