How does the cylinder pressures itself? Will the pneumatic system work by itself any number of times as long as there is power on the battery? Also what is the difference between the single and double acting cylinders? What is the max pressure that component “X” will handle?
**You will need to pressurize the pneumatic system by some method, a manual pump or an electric pump. The pneumatic system will not pressurize from the battery power. I would recommend an electric pump like the ones that connect to your cars cigarette lighter used to inflate your cars tires.
Each time the cylinder is actuated, some air pressure is lost. You only have “x” number of uses before you will require a new charge of air. The number of uses, “x”, will vary based on your specific configuration and load.
The difference between the single and double acting cylinders is that the single acting cylinder uses air pressure to push out and a spring to pull in. The double acting cylinder uses air pressure to push out and pull in.
We have certified the system is safe at 100psi. We recommend this is the maximum pressure used in the Vex Pneumatics kit. **
