Printing out notebook

Last year I did a digital notebook and printed it out. Whenever I had to add it to the binder, I had to three whole punch it, which made it look bad. How do you print out your notebook to avoid this?

This is my first season doing the digital format, and I haven’t tested out this idea yet, but I just came up with an idea of using a binder with those clear pockets so that everything would still be organized, others can read it, and the pages would be protected.

You might try comb binding also. Tends to have the holes closer to the edge of the paper and can look really good too.

With either a comb binding or a 3-hole punch, you could try printing your pages scaled down slightly to give some more margin.

YES!!! This is by far the best method as it keeps the pages looking clean and keeping them protected. We had the same problem of the 3 hole punch looking bad, but the clear page protectors made that so much better! Highly Recommend!

I fully agree with this. Good advice!

My teams used page protectors last year and they worked well. They do cause the notebook to take up more space though, so buy a big 3-ring binder. Also, we found that using a color laser printer works so much better than inkjet for printing out large documents if you have access to one. This means that I send ours to our district office for printing which means that the files have to be sent a few days before the competition, so that took some getting used to for our teams.

my team made a custom sized page that we cut out and glue into a actually notebook.
