Problem saving

Hello all,
I am using VEXCode IQ in our classrooms to code with students. However, as not every student has their own robot, we need to add devices manually. After doing that, students write their code using the new commands VEXcode adds after adding the devices.
When they have finished their code, they save the code to their disks (yes, permissions are correct), but when they reopen the code, everything is blank (including the devices they added manually).

Can someone point me into a direction? Any help appreciated!
Thanks!

Marc, a little more info would be helpful. You say

“they save the code to their disks”

Can you elaborate as to how your students do this (e.g. use Save As)? Similarly, please elaborate as to how your students “re-open”? Does each student have unique file names? Finally, please elaborate as to what you mean by “their disks.”

Thabks for your reply.
In our school we are using network drives, so these are shares each student has read/write access to. They create a project using « New project », code in it and use the « Save » function to save it to their mounted disk. So far nothing unusual, vexcode reports nothing, file gets created.
When they reipen it (even immediately after creating it) either via double click or « Open » command from vexcode, they get a virgin file with no code.
So there is nonissue with filenames, overwriting files etc…it seems to come from vexcode. BTW same from my computer.

Hmm. While anything is possible, this is pretty basic functionality and seems unlikely to be coming from VEXCode.

So back to basics. Have you tried saving / restoring to/from a local drive?

well did they save to their device that why and Vex IQ saves automatically so they will just have to save it to their device and should be able to reopen the code using Ctrl + O

Hello there. Looks like the problem was fixed after our computers made a Windows update. Thanks for all your feedback!
